MARGIE EXPLAINS VALENTINE'S ROSES As Valentine's Day approaches, I am often asked what the meaning of each rose color is.  I thought we take a moment to explain the meaning of each color and how many roses are given. Red Long associated with beauty and perfection, red roses are a time-honored way to say “I love you.” Red roses convey passion and a strong romantic love for another person. MEANING: Love and Romance. Pink A classic symbol of grace and elegance, the pink rose is often given as a token of admiration and appreciation. They are the gentlest of roses and relay that message through their grace.  MEANING: Gratitude, Grace, Admiration, and Joy. Orange With their blazing energy, orange roses are the wild child of the rose family.  Orange roses represent fascination and pride.  MEANING: Enthusiasm and Passion. Keep fresh flowers away from drafts and extreme temperatures, which can quickly dry out the flowers and cause wilting. If your flowers came in plastic, remove this as soon as possible. Do not place your arrangement near fruit or in the path of cigarette smoke. The ethylene gas is detrimental to many flower types. Avoid placing flower arrangements in windowsills and other areas with full sun where flowers can wilt due to overheating. Most flowers will last longer under cool conditions.
