The Dog , I Mean Cat Days of Summer Are Here The Summer is heating up and the long summer days are here.  According to the Farmers' Almanac, the real meaning behind the term Dog days of summer is actually in refence to the fact, that during this time of year, the Sun occupies the same region of the sky as Sirius, the brightest star visible from any part of Earth and part of the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog.  But enough about the dogs, I'm just a cool cat.
